Increase energy and you expand life!
An introduction to Active Energy
by STEFAN ANGHELI
It is my great pleasure and I feel duty to inform
you of an amazing way of life through health fitness. A life where you'll
do more and ponder less. A life where you'll be more and wonder "what
if?" less. Where you wake up in the morning grateful and say, 'I'm ready,
let's go!'
Know what I'm talking about?
For those of you who are somewhat hazy on this subject and would like to know
more, I am honored to introduce you to a new energy surging lifestyle through
health fitness. In this ESPT section, I will address key fundamental issues
that will get you well on your way to a phenomenal increase in energy levels
and thus a greater life. You see, I think an increase in your energy levels
can only contribute to a better life.
Think about it? By having more energy, you'll study less and comprehend more,
you'll work more with less rest. Basically it makes you more efficient and
all that adds up to give you more play time. You see, an investment in fitness
actually saves time.
Without your regular energy dose, you're not functioning at a peak state,
therefore you're not only wasting time but you feel ordinary while doing it.
Not only does your physical life suffer but also your mental state. Feelings
of depression and low self-esteem are all too common. Inevitably this domino
effect spills over into other areas of your life such as family, relationships
and even money.
Yes, money...and don't we all love it.
With low energy, how can you get up and make that investment? How can you
walk up to your boss and negotiate a raise? How can you get that business
idea of the ground? It's tough no doubt.
The energetic individual on the other hand, seems to do more yet still has
a great attitude. They seem to find that extra time and energy for fun and
games. Yet, they are always in the moment. They're living they're own life
the way they want, not merely watching the lives of others and wishing that
it was them. They're the individuals that get knocked down but still have
the energy to get back up and smile at the end of it all.
These individuals are no doubt different to the average. But what's important
is that they weren't born different. They just discovered and applied time
tested principles that increase life energy. How did they do it?
For that answer we have to look to Einstein famous energy formula: E=M c2,
which can also be written M*C*C. And even when applied to our own health fitness
system he was right once again. Energy, especially active energy, equals Muscular
and Cardiovascular Conditioning. Only by conditioning your muscular as well
as your cardiovascular system, you will achieve this heightened energy state.
Of course this can only work provided you know about and practice a sound
nutrition plan. Sounds easy?
I know some of you may be thinking, "C'mon Stef, I've just got enough
energy to go to work, come home and perhaps cook dinner. How can I also find
the energy to do the above?"
You see what most people don't realise is that those kinds of activities don't
make you tired, they actually give you energy. How can that be?
That's because you are using your active energy system. And millions of fans
of this lifestyle are a testament to that. And science keeps on proving it
time and time again. What's interesting is that those who always seem to conserve
energy by always sitting down and perform minimal physical activity seem to
have the lowest energy levels. Even though by definition they have enough
energy in their bodyfat tank to swim to New Zealand.
With all this talk of energy, what exactly is it? Think of energy as a fuel.
In other words, overweight people have the most energy. Yes, indeed. These
people have the most stored energy. Fat for example yields the most energy
per gram, so in theory these people have more energy than elite athletes.
But why is it that they're energy levels are so low than the only exercise
they do is run away from the truth?
The answer lies with the analogy of a formula one racecar which I think is
a good representation of the body; anyone's body. Except that some people
use theirs as if the next gas station may not even exist. Using this analogy,
the F1 racecar has the most energy at the start of the race when it's fuel
tanks are full. But that is also when they perform the slowest lap due to
the extra weight carried in the tank. (And also cold tires which can perhaps
analogy with a warm-up.)
But what happens when they lose some of this fuel? They go faster because
they're lighter and more efficient.
Think of your body. Are you carrying extra fuel when you don't need to? Losing
some of this fuel will allow your engines to run more efficiently. So for
the same activity you are now using less energy because you weigh less. Your
muscles now have to support less weight meaning that you'll save energy. And
what happens to the extra energy saved you may ask?
By doing physical activity at the right intensity(how hard something feels)
and frequency(how many days per week) you'll conserve this energy and start
to use it else where. Such as on keeping your immune system strong which is
your best and only defense against health related problems. But best of all
it will be used wherever YOU want.
Over the next few columns, I will guide you through the basic process of how
to achieve just that. Stay tuned for the why and how of turning your F1 racecar
from a V8 to a V12.
